Why I built this

I spent way too long trying to buy an office chair. Like, months. My back was killing me after work every day, and I must have returned at least three chairs that felt great in the showroom but were a total nightmare after a week of sitting in them.

I'm 6'0". My girlfriend is 5'2". We sit completely differently — I lean back, she tucks her legs up — but every "best chair" list we found basically said the same thing: "Buy this one, it's great." Great for who? Not for us.

It was frustrating. I couldn't believe that in 2025, with millions of people working from home, there wasn't a single tool that just asked: "Hey, what's your actual body like?"

So I did what any stubborn person would do. I went deep into Reddit and started reading real conversations — not reviews, not sponsorships, just thousands of people sharing what worked and what didn't. Short people. Tall people. People with tailbone pain, lumbar issues, people who sit cross-legged, people who recline all day. And it hit me: the best advice was already out there. It was just buried in threads, impossible to find unless you spent weeks digging.

That's when TrueChoose started. I built a tool that organizes all that real community feedback — the honest, unfiltered stuff — and turns it into a recommendation that's actually about you. Not some generic "editor's choice." Not whatever brand paid the most for placement. Just data from real people, filtered to match your body, your pain points, the way you actually sit.

Chairs are the first step. I'm building more tools like this — for desks, for pet food, for anything where "one size fits all" is a lie. Because making a good decision shouldn't require a PhD in product research. It should just take a few honest questions and a little help from people who've been there.
